It may only be March, but school will be out before you know it and the hot summer days will be rolling in. Families find themselves wondering how to best occupy their children's time during those long, sunny days. While the temptation to immerse them in a sea of screens can be strong, there's one timeless option that continues to stand out: summer day camp!
1. Fun and immersive weekly themes
Each week is a new adventure as we explore everything from the ancient past to outer space to magic! Crafts, games, snacks, books, activities and more are all tied into our fun weekly themes. Our Summer 2024 Themes are: Blast Off to Space, Pirates and Mermaids, Tropical Getaway, Down on the Farm, Wild Reptiles, Carnival, Superheroes, Camping, Magic, Time Travel, Secret Agent Training.
Children from age 2 though grade 5 will all enjoy the same weekly themes while doing activities at their own age level.
2. Stimulate Creativity and Imagination
Summer camp provides a canvas for children to unleash their creativity and imagination. Through arts and crafts projects, dramatic play, and storytelling sessions, campers have the opportunity to express themselves freely and explore their artistic talents. At Tangerine, Bay Street, and Sunshine Schoolhouse, we offer endless possibilities for imaginative play and creative exploration, fostering a love for the arts that can last a lifetime.
3. Learn Through Hands-On Experiences (And Indoor Field Trips!)
Just because it's summer doesn't mean that learning stops. In fact, our camp features hands-on activities and indoor field trips that stimulate curiosity and encourage exploration. From science experiments to cooking classes and DIY projects, campers have the chance to learn new skills and discover hidden talents in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Throughout the summer we will have special visitors come to the school to bring some of the learning and fun to our campers! Reptiles, superheroes, circus performers, farm animals and more are in store for us this year.
4. Foster Social Connections and Collaboration
Summer camp provides ample opportunities for children to socialize, make new friends, and collaborate on exciting projects. Through team-building activities, group games, and cooperative challenges, campers learn valuable communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
